Kelcy Lee Hyde's latest adventure began with a phone call from Tootsie's Orchid Lounge in Nashville, Tenn. Entertainer Director John Taylor asked the 15-year-old Pathways student and country singer, "Are you ready to come back to Nashville?" A few weeks later, Hyde was on an eight-day whirlwind visit, singing four- to five-song sets a night with the house bands at Tootsie's, as well as hosting open mike night for new acts. The energetic teen also sang across Broadway Street at Rippy's. Lonnie's karaoke bar also benefited from her talent. According to Hyde's mother, Leah, "Her youth and spunkiness tore up Tootsie's. With her high energy performances and vocal gymnastics, it was like watching a rock video. The crowd was jumping with arms in the air." After all the positive reaction from the crowd, Hyde said, "That is the reason musicians do what they do." Hyde also took advantage of the amenities in Nashville, visiting the Country Music Hall of Fame, Grand Ole Opry and Bluebird Café. She met Vince Gill, Sarah Darling, Joey & Rory and Raised by Radio, the opening act for the Jonas Brothers. She also co-authored a song with well-known Nashville song writer, Bill DiLuigi. Hyde first sang at Tootsies in November 2007. At the time, Taylor gave her a punch list of what she needed to work on before she was ready to be a professional entertainer. Hyde's mother said, "Kelcy is more focused and determined than ever to be a country singer. She is honing her craft, taking guitar lessons from Les Doss, vocal lessons from Madeline Capelle and writing songs, while still finding time to be a kid." Hyde attends Nye County School District's Pathways alternative education program. "It allows her more flexibility in her schedule," said her mother. Hyde moved with her family from Las Vegas in 2000 for Pahrump's rural lifestyle. She's active in school choir and drama, enjoys writing, reading, horseback riding and boogie boarding in addition to performing. She has appeared at many events in Pahrump and Shoshone and currently co-hosts karaoke at 7 p.m. on Wednesday nights at the Tumbleweed Tavern on Leslie Street. Hyde started singing around age 3, putting on shows with costumes and dance routines for family and friends. At 7, she sang her first church solo at a Christmas program and received a standing ovation. From that moment on, she knew she wanted to be an entertainer. ![]() Alex began singing at an early age of 14: he has sung regularly at family gatherings at his school choir and weddings. When he was 15 years old, he told his mother “I am going to be a singer” and then Alex opened the yellow pages and called many elderly homes and told them “I'm going to give you a free show” and that's how he got started…. At the age of 16 he won 3 rd place at the talent Show at Palos Verdes High School. Just recently, when Alex turned 17, he received a $1,000 scholarship from the Gateway Arts Foundation for continued studies with his vocal teacher, Madelene Capelle. The Awards Ceremony program was on Thursday, January 27, 2011 at Family Music Center on Sahara. Alex sings a large variety of music, but his primary focus is Jazz. Not only does he perform well known standards, but he has also written a few songs of his own. Of the two years he's playing he's accomplished so much. Alex Christopher was performing at Suncoast Casino or Sam's Town Casino, for 8 weeks every Thursday, at 2:00 PM, in the main showroom. Alex Christopher performs at the Palms Casino Resort now where he has his own show. "The Alex Christopher Show" Alex Christopher is available to perform at Hotel – Casino Concerts, Private Events, Birthday Parties and Weddings etc. more... |

Stephanie Fry was well trained for eight years in Southern California, and I was pleased with her vocal abilities. Since studying with Madelene, however, she has really blossomed. Madelene has the ability to bring out the best in Stephanie's singing. A "temporary trauma" had stolen Stephanie's "joy of music", and Madelene has certainly brought back the pure joy of singing into Stephanie's life. Her teaching style is innovative, thorough, educational & enjoyable.
Brava to our favorite DIVA!

"Stephanie's voice has grown so much since the last time he heard her sing. She has made a lot of progress since she started with this wonderful voice teacher, "Miss Madelene". We thank God for her, she is another angel. Miss Madelene has done so much for Stephanie." - Nana & Papa Fry
Special thanks to Camille Duskin from the Gateway Arts Foundation for proving Hattie's House as a place for Stephanie's recital.
Stephanie recently won second place for Harrah's annual talent show. Good job Stephanie. Now get to work on your recital!
